Test Prep Tutoring

Test Prep Tutoring

Students often feel a great deal of pressure to perform extremely well on the ACT or SAT. These tests play a significant role in college admissions.

Here at Peak Tutoring and Educational Services we approach ACT and SAT prep with two goals in mind: first, to help students understand the individual factors (reading, writing, math, etc.) upon which to focus in order to achieve the highest composite score, and second, to help students fit effective ACT/SAT prep into their busy lives and gain the confidence they need to excel on these important exams.

We do not require a sign-up fee for ACT/SAT Prep tutoring. We customize the tutoring contract to provide the focus on ACT or SAT subjects desired by the student and the tutoring time the student needs to achieve her or his maximum potential.

ASVAB Prep Tutoring

Students who are considering service in the United States armed forces must successfully complete the Armed Services Vocational Aptitude Battery (ASVAB) before enlistment in any branch (U.S. Air Force, U.S. Army, U.S. Coast Guard, U.S. Navy, U.S. Space Force) is possible.

A student’s scores on four subtests (called AR, WK, PC, and MK) determine the Armed Forces Qualifying Test (AFQT) score, which is used by the armed services to decide an enlistee’s eligibility for that particular branch and are considered when an enlistee seeks assignment to some military occupational specialties (MOS).

ASVAB is a unique exam because it includes some non-academic components. Here are the subjects that are included on the ASVAB:

  • General Science
  • Arithmetic Reasoning (AR)
  • Word Knowledge (WK)
  • Paragraph Comprehension (PC)
  • Math Knowledge (MK)
  • Electronics Information
  • Auto Information (Automobile Technology)
  • Shop Information (Hand and Power Tools)
  • Mechanical Comprehension
  • Assembling Objects

Our ASVAB Academic Coaches are highly knowledgeable in the topics that you will face and must master to excel on every subtest. They can help you achieve the score you need to pursue your dream of military service!

We partner with you in the pursuit of your goal and will customize tutoring to meet your specific need.

CLEP Prep Tutoring

The College-Level Examination Program® (CLEP) can help any person receive college credit for any of the 33 CLEP subject tests offered. CLEP offers exams in five subject areas, all of which cover material taught in in the freshman and sophomore years of college. CLEP is accepted at more than 2,900 colleges and universities. If you pass a CLEP test, you can receive college credit for what you already know, usually 3 or more credits, though the amount of credit you can earn on an individual CLEP exam varies with each college.

Be sure to check with the college in which you have interest before you commit to a CLEP exam. Some colleges do place a limit on the total amount of credit hours that you can earn by passing CLEP tests, while some other colleges may grant an exemption from completing a class that correlates to a CLEP test but not credit toward a degree.

Peak Tutoring and Educational Services will provide you with a CLEP Academic Coach that focuses on giving you the individual attention you need to feel comfortable and confident during CLEP tests and on helping you to the highest score possible.

GED Prep Tutoring

The General Educational Development (GED) tests are used to obtain a high school credential called a Certificate of High School Equivalency. The minimum passing score is determined on the basis of how high school students across the nation performed during the year the GED is taken. In other words, your success depends on whether you are able to prove that you know as much as someone who finished high school in the same year the tests are taken.

As of 2014, the GED includes four components:

  • Mathematical Reasoning
  • Social Studies
  • Science
  • Language Arts

Unlike the SAT, ACT, and other standardized exams, there are only three opportunities to take the GED tests each year.

Our GED Academic Coaches can help you get the results you need to pursue your goals. They are all experienced educators and can help students of any age.
